OnePlus will announce a new, mysterious product on August 25

OnePlus just revealed that it's planning "something special" for August 25, when the world will "discover what's next" for the company. Before you get too excited, we have to point out that this is, most likely, not related to any new smartphone. Instead, as the teaser video embedded above is suggesting, OnePlus will probably announce a new pair of earphones, possibly a model to succeed the OnePlus Icons. 

Available to buy since late 2015, the original OnePlus Icons are the company's most premium earphones to date. They currently cost $49.99, which isn't a bad price for a pair of earphones that sound good. 

But what if OnePlus isn't announcing new headphones, and will actually surprise us with a new phone? Well, if this happens - and that's a big if - it will certainly not be a OnePlus Xsuccessor, as the company isn't planning on making one, at least not this year. Nevertheless, since the OnePlus 3 flagship is merely 2 months old, we don't really think OnePlus is ready to showcase any new handset. But we'll see about that on August 25.
