Catalyst made a waterproof case for avid Pokemon GO players

Apparently, case maker Catalyst wants to capitalize on the Pokemon GO mania with a specially designed case that waterproofs your smartphone and lines up your Pokeball throws. How cool is that?

Sealing your iPhone 6/6s/6 Plus/6s Plus from water and dirt while also featuring a transparent panel to let you operate the touch screen, the case also features an extra rubber cap that fits over the phone. Its strips guide your finger when you swipe up to throw a Pokeball at an unsuspecting pokemon. Thus, your aim remains precise, even in moist weather.

The Pokeball aiming accessory comes free with new Catalyst cases, or exists as an optional $9.99 purchase on top of your current Catalyst waterproof case. It's supposed to be sold everywhere in the world.

iPhone 7 to be announced alongside new Beats products

Next week, on September 7, Apple will host an important event, where it's almost certainly going to unveil two new iPhones: the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. According to French website iGeneration, Apple will also announce a "selection of new Beats by Dre products" on that day. Reportedly, the info comes from an email that was inadvertently sent to iGeneration by someone from Beats' PR team.

As mentioned many times before, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will most likely not feature 3.5mm headset jacks. Thus, all headphones and earphones made for them will have to rely either on Lightning connectors, or on wireless technologies. Back in January, we heard about an alleged set of wireless Beats earbuds, and that's what could be announced on September 7 (plus, maybe, some Lightning-equipped Beats headphones).

Wireless AirPods could also be unveiled alongside the iPhone 7 series, though these are probably not Beats-branded.

Apple bought Beats Electronics in 2014, so the company now functions as a subsidiary to the Cupertino giant, that's why it should be in the spotlight (at least for some time) during the September 7 event. Whatever happens on that day, we'll be here to tell you all about it.

Motorola promotes the Moto Z Play Droid with up to 50 hours of battery life

Just the other day, Motorola and Verizon introduced the Motorola Moto Z Play Droid. Today, Motorola promoted the "up to 50 hour" battery life that the 3510mAh battery inside the Moto Z Play Droid provides. This is the longest-lasting battery ever placed inside a Moto smartphone. And with the Motorola Turbo charger, a quick 15-minute charge will provide as much as 9-hours of power.

The phone's specs include a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. The Snapdragon 625 SoC drives the device with an octa-core 2GHz CPU and the Adreno 506 GPU. 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM is inside, along with 32GB of expandable internal storage. A 2TB capacity microSD slot is on board for those seeking additional storage.

The 16MP rear-facing camera has an aperture of f/2.0, and focuses quickly using PDAF. The 5MP front-facing selfie snapper features an 85-degree wide angle lens. The phone is compatible with the Moto Mods accessories, and Android 6.0.1 is pre-installed.

The Moto Z Play Droid will be available from Verizon's physical stores and online starting on September 8th. On Big Red's Device Payment Plan, the handset will cost you $17 a month. Or, you can pay $408 for the phone. Verizon is offering up to $300 with the trade-in of certain models.

Motorola also released a promo for the Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod. With the modular accessory, users will be able to take pictures with 10X optical zoom allowing photographers to zoom in on a subject without losing resolution.
